Video Library

We’ve always been firm believers of ‘showing’ others how to use Excel, as opposed to simply ‘telling’ them how to use Excel, line by line.

With the advent of Social Media and the wonders of YouTube, more and more of us are learning visually, as opposed to reading from books (not that there’s anything wrong with that method at all!).

So that brings us here to the Video Library! Chances are that if you’re reading this, you’re a predominantly ‘Visual Learner’, so hopefully the videos contained within this section will help you.

The Video Library has been broken down into distinct sections:

Welcome To Dave The Spreadsheet Guy

This section serves as an introduction to Dave, as well as what we’re all about and how we can help You!

Dave’s Guides To Excel

This is the ‘Learning Zone’ if you like? The videos here are generally longer and cover functional areas, as opposed to specific Excel functions. An example of this would be the video called ‘Dave’s Introduction to Calculations’.

This section is ideal for anybody looking to learn about a new area of Excel.

Dave’s Quick ‘How To’ Guides

This section is all about the common Google searches that Excel Users make to understand a snippet of the program. For example:

  • Why is my VLOOKUP not working?
  • How do I knock out a quick Bar Chart?
  • What is the difference between =SUMIF and =SUMIFS?

These videos will be generally shorter, sharper and straight to the point, so there’ll be little chance of seeing Dave’s face! “Woohoo”, we hear you shout 🙂

Dave’s Excel Builds

This section is for the Practical Application of all that we have learnt in the other sections.

There are so many different possibilities for Excel Builds and the videos in this section will generally be longer but will involve us starting from a blank canvas, presenting a plan and then constructing the model, right through to the finished article.

This might seem long and tedious but it’s where you will enhance your ability to turn Excel theory into something meaningful, which performs the required task efficiently and effectively… it ‘may’ even help you get that pay rise!!
